[linux-dvb] Re: Still A/V sync problems (PCR error?)

Johannes,

I am running vdr 1-2-5, dvb 20-10-2003 (firmware 13-10-2003, NOT old-icam)
I do have some vdr-patches, but do not believe it's a vdr problem.
With "getavpid" I also looked during the tests at the pid numbers (set by vdr, and or patches),
even without PCR pid number (reported by getavpid as 9FFF), I got the STC jump between
transponder time and recording time.
The only way to get rid of these jumps is switching to another transponder, so my conclusion
is that it's not in the recording itself, but must come from the transponder of the current
tuned channel. (Another indication of this is the exact match of transponder timestamp
and what I see in get_stc)
I believe this timestamp can only come from the transponder PCR, since vdr is not telling
the driver the PCR pid, I concluded that the driver (firmware) must be doing this.

I will test with vanilla-vdr if you think it's a usefull extra test, well I will test anyway this evening:-)

Which VDR version do you use? Have you applied any patches to VDR?

The normal firmware does not do that. The old -icam firmware needs
to do it for CAM support, but -icam is deprecated and vdr users don't
need it anyway.
