EPG data section parsing is pretty similiar to PAT/PMT/NIT/SDT parsing. 
Maybe you want to take a short look in the scan.c utility source to get 
an impression how this is implemented there.

VDR, Enigma and Neutrino implement also parsers for the EPG related 
sections, maybe you find some useful code there too.
