Please scroll back in the mailing list archive. Even yesterdays Macs and 
PCs are powerful enough to decode MPEG2 and DivX. For HDTV you need less 
than 2GHz, this is still ways less than today's processors provide.

For MPEG2 demultiplexing (in software) and streaming a dbox2 is 
sufficient, this box contains a 66MHz MPC823 - this is a Motorola 
PowerPC core with some onchip peripherals and tiny caches.
