[linux-dvb] System freeze loading dvb-bt8xx.ko under 2.6.5 with Avermedia dvb-t

Folks,

I'm having trouble getting an Avermedia DVB-T working under 2.6.5 using
bttv-0.9.15 & dvb-kernel cvs latest as of yesterday. The system freezes
when I load dvb-bt8xx.o. I've just bought this card so this is a new
setup.

Part of the problem is possibly the unrecognised card stuff reported by
bttv.

Apr 22 20:00:07 guatemala kernel: bttv: driver version 0.9.15 loaded

Apr 22 20:00:07 guatemala kernel: bttv0: registered device vbi0

I've tried card=6 with the same freeze, none of the other card= options
look likely. Can someone enlighten me here? From
http://www.linuxtv.org/mailinglists/linux-dvb/2003/09-2003/msg00115.html
it looks like the Avermedia should be card=105 with 0.9.11, but in
0.9.15 card=105 gives "Apr 22 19:56:47 guatemala kernel: bttv0: using:
ProVideo PV143 [card=105,insmod option]"

> Here is my parsed kernel dmesg:

Loading the bt878.ko module gives.

Apr 22 19:46:06 guatemala kernel: bt878: AUDIO driver version 0.0.0

Apr 22 19:46:06 guatemala kernel: bt878: Bt878 AUDIO function found (0).

Loading dvb-bt8xx.o freezes.

I'm using the kernel parameter noapic to avoid problems with acpi
support for the VIA chipset.

Can anyone suggest anything for me?
