[linux-dvb] Re: dvbstream eventually stops

Has anybody else seen this behaviour ?
Yes, on several 2.4 boxes. DVBstream runs happily for days, then suddenly none of the three boxes receive any data, restart dvbstream and everything is back to normal. (All cards are connected to the same dish/receiver.
We are suspecting something in the signal which dvbstream does not like.
I guess one could setup a timer in dvbstream that timeout if data has not been
received for an appropriate time, then retune and continue, but that
still gonna result in a noticable drop of packets. Could it be a 33
bit pts or dts counter wrap ?

I guess the fix has to be done in the firmware. Does anyone know if
the Windows driver has the same problem though I can't imagine anyone
running Windows for hours ;-) ?

Hmm, I'm connected a Spaun multiswitch in front of DVB cards. Could it be
a problem with the switches ? Andreas are you using sat-switches ?
