[linux-dvb] A/V Desync on playback with FF cards continued

I know this has been brought up many times in this list, but I was just
curious if anyone is still looking into this problem. I use a Nexus-S Rev
2.2 and when I watch live TV, I never get any A/V desync. But, when I try to
playback recorded shows, it happens all the time. A few things I have
noticed are:

1) The problem is reproducible always in the same section of a specific
recording.
2) If the recording is transcoded, the problem goes away.
3) When the A/V desync occurs, fast forwarding or rewinding to the next
inode fixes the problem.

Considering these statements to be true, it appears that the drivers for
Nexus are unable to recover properly from errors in the recorded shows
(since the A/V desync can always be triggered from the same section of a
specific recording, I am assuming the recording has some kind of error in
it). Has anyone come to any new conclusions about fixing this problem?
Everyone that I have talked to that owns a FF card experiences this quite
often on playback. I have read the debates about if this is a firmware
issue or a driver issue, but it appears that nobody has been able to
pin-point this problem as of yet. I am using the latest 261c firmware and
the latest cvs dvb-kernel. I believe this is really the only major drawback
to owning a FF card. It appears this never happens with budget cards using
a software based mpeg decoders.

Best Regards,
C.Y.M.
