[linux-dvb] problems with cx88 dvb driver

Hello all,

I've returned to trying to get the KWorld DVB-t card
working. For those who don't remember, it has a
Samsung tin box with an mt352 front end, and a cx23883
PCI interface.

I downloaded from cvs linux-dvb from 14/09 and
video4linux from 19/09. I'm using a stock 2.6.7
kernel built on top of a SuSE 9.1 installation.

After pointing the video4linux make.config to the cvs
linux-dvb distro, everything builds fine. I've also
run the new MAKEDEV script to change the id things.

I load the following modules in this order (the ones
with a * are from the kernel, the rest are from the
cvs build I just made):

firmware_class(*), video-buf, btcx-risc, i2c-core(*),
v4l2-common, v4l1-compat, i2c-algo-bit(*),
videodev(*), dvb-core, cx88xx, cx8800, cx8801, cx8802,
cx88-blackbird, cx88-dvb, mt352

Tailing /var/log/messages, all the modules seem to
load ok, the card is recognised correctly, but the
last two messages I get are:

DVB: registering new adapter (cx88[0])
i2c_adapter i2c-0: sendbytes: error - bailout.

If I then try tzap, I get:

ERROR: failed opening '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0'
(No such device)

Googling showed up some messages from this list last
month but they neither did they seem relevant, nor did
they come to a conclusion.

So the big questions... what does the sendbytes error
mean and how can I get rid of it.

Regards,

Soyeb

p.s. PCWorld seem to have the new Nova-T card for only
£60 which is cheaper than I could find it even from
mailorder.
