Mmh, what a pity.

Ok, I downloaded the rc3 and patched my stock kernel. (is it correct, that
the version name is not changing when using -rc kernels? This is the first
time I tried a rc-kernel.)

If I patched it correctly I do not have any problems with driver. I
tried scanning and tzaping, everything is working fine.

Did you enable USB_DEBUG?

It is now time for you to enable sysrq and do some dumps on the console
after the kernel died. Do you have some other usb devices in use, e.g. USB
Stick etc. ?

Did go back to 2.6.8.1?

Can you try it on another machine?

Patrick.
