Not a stupid question, but maybe a stupid answer: I did and at some point
the VisionDTV app said: Hardware error.

However, I run this in a Shuttle XPC and the PCI card had problems with that
system too. I could not change channels and got errors (although not
hardware error). I often got a first picture and then nothing... I tried
this with 2.422 version drivers. So, apart from the "hardware error" pop-up
I got the same results as with the PCI card so I just discarded the results
and blamed my Shuttle.

Darn, I'll check this again...

Probably a stupid question but I feel it has to be asked: have you tried the
box with windows with the driver from the manufacturer to rule out the
possibility that the hardware is simply broken? Wouldn't be the first
time...
