thanks for the patch. I am sorry to say that it didn't work for me.  

But: I tried to get it into an older cvs export (mt352.c v 1.9) und
kernel 2.4. There is some special initialization code in
mt352_init_AVERMEDIA771 and I am not sure if that will need to be fixed
too? (I've just pasted some code around a bit, but without success.)
