Strange. I bought one two weeks ago which is recognized by the kernel:
00:0b.0 Multimedia controller: Philips Semiconductors SAA7146 (rev 01)

But I know that the box was lying in the shop for some months. So maybe
mine is an old revision and yours is a new one with a new chip.

Maybe you are better off in trying to exchange the card, if this is possible.

Disclaimer: I am no driver programmer, I am only a user who has his own
problems with the Nova-S card, so dont give my advice too much weight.
