But if you only have two mono channels, as is the case if the source
material is analog video with "Zweikanalton", using two separate audio
streams would only eat into the total multiplex bandwidth, which is a
scarce resource on DVB-T anyway. So for broadcasting "Zweikanalton"
Material, using dual channel MPEG audio is the better choice.

Another advantage is that "simple" recording applications which only record
a single audio stream will record both languages from a dual channel
transmission, while they'd only record one in case of a multiple audio
stream transmission.
