[linuxtv-softmpeg] Connection to VDR-Softdevice

Hallo,

I am planning to build simple vdr with linux (trying to use
as much of the hardware I allready have and juyt buy a budget card).

What is the connection of Softmpeg to the VDR-Plugin-Softdevice? Are these
independent developments or is the Softdevice using softmpeg.
Are there two solutions I could try.
