[vdr] Re: Wish list for VDR 1.0

Hello,

As Jean-Claude wrote,

Subtitle support would be a great feature for approaching v1.0.

As it is easy to decode Teletext and extract subtitle pages, it is just
a matter of including OSD formatting and all the stuff to define, select
and choose subtitles (if more than one language is available).

Stream for subtitle is in PRIVATE_STREAM1, so it is easy to record using
current VDR putting Teletext PID for DPID1 (except if AC3 is received
at the same time).

We can even just record the whole Teletext stream without any filtering
and filter and OSD format during playback (even better, for people
having Teletext on their TV Set, it would be possible to let the card do
the trick).

Jean-Claude,

concerning multi-language, the real problem is with DVB Driver !!
You can switch from one language to another if the program is not
encoded.
(you can test it with WISHLINE channel, and it is working even on
recordings).

So we definitely need a better CAM support for encoded and
multi-language channels
