Yes, the Hollywood+ card has a great tv-out. But i can't believe that there 
should be no graphic cards which have a similar quality.
Do you know the Matrox cards. What about the G400 DualHead ? This card seems 
to be well supported by directfb and shall give a good performance with 
mplayer. Have you ever heard anything about it's tv-out quality.
