Or you can use a Hauppauge 2.1 card , these have a coax jack built in for 
output to external dd receiver - at least for me this workes just right out 
of the box !
However i can only speak of VDR 1.0.4 - would be nice if newer versions of VDR 
would support this further - like live AC3 with the new drivers !?

Yes i also like the idea of not having to buy, install and configure a 
seperate sound card... :-)
