I had the same problems (ARM crashed, VDR 1.1.16, one DVB 
card) when I changed the frontside bus from 133 to 100 (uising a 
K7VZA) the occurence of ARM crash was reduced to 10 %, (but 
not to zero) I think about buying a 2nd DVB card.

However, ARM crash seems to be hardware related.
