as softcam or as firmware for the magic module its still usese patented algorithems and copyrighted code
(dont get me wrong i would like to see the sc or mm leagal and official usable)

Verkaufsstopp für Magic Module 
[FPoe] Aufgrund einer einstweiligen Verfügung von SCM Microsystems darf das Magic Module nicht mehr verkauft und beworben werden.

Seit Monaten sind vermehrt Common Interface Module im Handel erhältlich, die ohne Funktionen ausgeliefert werden. Als "Programmierumgebungen" getarnt, werden sie von Scharzsehern genutzt, um widerrechtlich Programme zu entschlüsseln. Die Module mit den Bezeichnungen "Magic Module" müssen vom Käufer erst für das gewünschte Verschlüsselungssystem programmiert werden. Die Software ist im Internet verfügbar.

Doch schon mit dem Einspielen der Software werden geltende Patente und Lizenzbestimmungen gebrochen. Denn die Lizenzinhaber haben fast alle ausschließlich SCM Microsystems mit der Produktion der entsprechenden Module beauftragt. Nachdem neben Viaccess auch Irdeto Access und Conax bestätigt hatten, dass allein SCM entsprechende CI-Module im Auftrag der Unternehmen herstellen und vertreiben darf, wurden jetzt Schritte gegen den Vertrieb unternommen.

Seit wenigen Tagen dürfen die von Dream Multimedia vertriebenen Module nicht mehr verkauft und beworben werden. Das Unternehmen informierte diverse Onlinehändler, die das Magic Module bereits aus den Shops entfernt haben. Populäre Internetseiten, die die entsprechende Software anboten, sind geschlossen.
