If you use REMOTE=KBD or -P'remote -t /dev/tty12' together with
the console plugin, then there are two instances that try to
read from the stdin concurrently. The instance of them that
get the chance to read the data first, wins, and the other
can't function correctly.
In your case it seems that the remote plugin is the winner and
gets the key strokes before the console plugin has the chance
to process it.

I'm using REMOTE=LIRC, -P"console -r" and --terminal=/dev/tty12 .
In this constellation, I can control VDR via remote control and
via keyboard at the same time. If I open a console, the keyboard
is captured (I can see the K symbol) and the stdin is redirected
to the current console.

The -r switch of the console plugin sould replace REMOTE=KBD and
the -P"remote -t /dev/tty12" plugin. Please try --terminal=???
instead of the remote plugin.

Hope this helps.
