Well, the -t option can also be used:
vdr -t /dev/tty9 &

Ack. I just don't see a simple solution (except reverting to the 1.1.18 
behaviour). Please tell me if you do.
If keyboard support is compiled into vdr, a simple 'vdr &' cannot be 
used anymore. Starting with 1.1.19, keyboard support is always active...
