Could it be, that the tuner is a new version? At hauppauge.de
(http://www.hauppauge.de/sw_nova-pci.htm) there is the following at the
driver v. 1.48:

Neue Features / Änderungen:
- Unterstützung des Philips Tuners

I'm using VDR 1.04 with the 0.94 driver from 2002-05-20. Does a driver
update solve the problem?
