Of course, if someone wanted to do this properly, then the 'sky' plugin 
should really be linked with librte from the "zapping" package 
(http://zapping.sf.net).

librte is what mp1e is based on, and indeed it's the reason why there 
are no recent 'mp1e' downloads... mp1e is now built as part of the 
librte package :)

By linking directly, there'd be no messy named-pipes or 'process 
watching' needed... and VDR would gain analogue input as long as you 
have a few hundred MHz to spare :)
