I am not very experienced with this kind of soft- and hardware and so
with that problems, neither. But I read in
de.comp.hardware.cpu+mainboard.amd about this board that one needs
enough and stable power especialy on +3,3 V and +5 V. As far as I know,
different mainboards have different designs so that some boards can
handle peaks in the power a chips needs by itself, while other boards
need this to be handled by the power supply. Perhaps the same part of
the design can handle more or less unstable power from a cheap PSU.
I asume the K7S5A matches the second sort, so we need a stable and
powerful (for peaks) PSU. But I think the average power need not to be
so high. So a very good 300 W PSU seems to be better than a very cheap
450 W PSU.
Unfortunately I do not have full data about what my system needs, yet,
so I don't now how to get an appropriate PSU.
