[vdr] Re: how to start VDR on a multiboot machine?

Thank you all for your help. Using runlevels seems like a convenient
choise with a multiboot machine. Debian seems to use runlevel 2 as
default, so I'll try to modify runlevel 4 for VDR operation.

What kind of scripts are you using to start VDR? I'm not that familiar
with scripting yet. Are you using the 'runvdr' or some selfmade
scripts?

When VDR starts at bootup, how do I get logged in automaticly without
giving the username & pw? I think the VDR needs to autologin as root,
because the DVB drivers must be loaded and the VDR must be able to
shutdown the PC after a scheduled recording. Am I right?
