[vdr] Re: Beginner questions
Hi Jörg,

Yes, it's all available on the *magic* J2 connector ;o))

This might be. Although since RGB is the TVs native mode,
it makes me wonder why manufacturers skimp here (I mean
it *is* a sales argument)

I can adjust this on my Thompson. My Nokia 9902 also has
some features to be able to shift the RGB picture to fit the
TV set.

I *assume* those that see a difference (I don't see much of a
difference on a normal TV show), are seeing this *not*
because the DVB output is much better, but probably because
their TV set can handle Y/C better than FBAS (as this too
bypasses some of the TV circuitry). Most definately the RGB
picture is much better than composite.

The real problem with J2 is that you are "handling" the fragile
ARM-7 outputs directly. Many people have killed their DVB
that way. My DVB extension board (Rev 2) will prevent this.
The piggyback adapter, which Thomas Breuer and I developed
should prevent this in the future. As soon as this stuff is
"buyable", I'll let the list know.
Greetz,
Reinhard
