[vdr] Get Mandrake 9.1 + VDR 1.1.27 to work together with Lirc

I've got the follwing problem

on a freshly installed Mandrake 9.1 & (VDR 1.1.27 + Elchi3 + AC3overDVB)

I did the following to get lirc working

-> installed LIRC 0.6.6 MDK RPM Package
-> compiled and installed LIRC 0.7pre1 Source
-> free Serialport
-> automatically launch lircd
-> test lirc with irw

The remote control is working (i can see the pressed buttons in irw) but 
i can't get vdr to work with the lirc remote control commands, despite 
vdr being compiled with REMOTE=LIRC.

So if someone has got a tip on getting Mandrake 9.1 + VDR 1.1.27 to work 
together with Lirc, I would very thankful.
