Does anyone have experience with an Palm PDA as remote control?
What's the maximun distance it works?

As far as i know it's only an Irda-Port and so i think it will not not work over a long distance?

Well, the Tungsten T has bluetooth, which is much better than IrDa, and
the Tungsten C has Wifi, that's perfect to control anything ;-)

My "old" Vx has only Irda and it's not so convenient to control VDR: all
you achieve is about 1-1.5m...
While we are on the subject of remote controls, you could also use your mobile phone (if you have a Sony-Ericsson T68i):

I haven't tried it, but from what I can tell it basically adds menus (with input controls) to your T68i (or compatible) phone.
