VPS:
This is only working for analog-TV and only for SAT1, ARD, ZDF and I think 
RTL2....
For DVB VPS is not transmitted

Showview:
I once looked into Showview (mainly for analog-tv on windows some years ago) 
but the showview-algo isn't known! It is a patented algo that is still not 
broken/cracked (but in the net are some nice info on how it works/might 
work). Implementing the known facts about Showview would make VDR illigal, 
so it will get implemented - I bet.
Maybe, if you are willing to pay the patent-fee for Klaus to get the algo 
known, he might implement it :) - but that would make this part of VDR no 
more GPL!

How can programming a show be easier than by using the EPG-data and doing 
the VDR-way?
Why do you need Showview and VPS?
