[vdr] vdradmin: Warning, problems with AutoTimer/Event-ID on ORF

Hello,

ORF seems to use the same Event-ID for different shows during a week. This may
cause "wrong AutoTimers" or "floating" timers, e.g. the first days a timer is
programmed correct and CheckTimers changes start and stop time to a different
show, when a doublette Event-ID occours or the Event-ID for a show changes.

The Event-ID is normally constant and unique between first occurance on EPG
and end time of the event. AutoTimer/CheckTimers rely by default on the
Event-ID to identify a timer securely, even during great start/stop time
changes. On some Finnish channels and obviously now on ORF the Event-ID is
not constant or unique for an event.

Affected are all versions since vdradmin 0.90, starting with version 0.94 the
problem is correctable.

I advise you not to use Event-IDs (program-id) for automatic timer correction
on the channels ORF-1 and ORF-2, instead let vdradmin use the recording time
for automatic correction.

You need vdradmin version 0.94 or newer for this.

Edit the configuration file "vdradmind.conf" with a text editor and add this
line:
  NO_EVENTID_ON = 32,33
Please replace the numbers 32 and 33 by your channel numbers for ORF-1 and
ORF-2. After restart, AutoTimer will no longer store Event-IDs for this two
channels and so automatically fall back to recording time checking.

Hope this helps,
best regards,
  _cooper_
