[vdr] vdr 1.2.5 SuSE rpm packages available

Hi,

vdr 1.2.5 rpm packages are on their way to the ftp mirrors. They are
available at

ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/supplementary/KDE/update_for_8.2/applications/

For the new vdr you also need newer dvb drivers and utilities
contained in the dvb and km_dvb packages. km_dvb only contains the
source code for the dvb kernel modules, you need to compile them to
match your running kernel. Provided that you have properly
configured kernel sources in /usr/src/linux, you can do that by just
calling

rpm -bb /usr/src/kernel-modules/dvb/dvb-modules.spec

and installing the resulting rpm from /usr/src/packages/RPMS. Please
remove the old dvb kernel modules before installing new ones (rm -ri
/lib/modules/`uname -r`/dvb).

The vdr package already includes the Tech-, ElchiAIO3b- and
autopid-Patch. vdr and dvb both have init-scripts, some parameters
can be tuned via /etc/sysconfig. Please also have a look at the
README.SuSE file of each package.

There are also rpms for distributions older than 8.2 available, they
are completely untested and might not work at all however.
