[vdr] VDR-installation and Debian-packages from c't
Hi,
yesterday I checked out the VDR-installation-CD from the
computer-magazine c't.
It installs a slim Debian Woody (about 256 MB, no GCC) and VDR-packages.
So you can't develop, but it works fine for normal users (apt-get is
installed and even pppoe, so you can easily upgrade to a full Debian).
The Debian-repository for the vdr-packages is available by c't by adding
the following to "/etc/apt/sources.list":
deb http://heise.de/ct/ftp/projekte/vdr/debian binary/
You should also add
deb http://marillat.free.fr/ stable main
for necessary multimedia-stuff.
Additionally you need to add testing branch by
echo "APT::Default-Release \"stable\";" > /etc/apt/apt.conf
and mirrors proving the testing packages like
deb http://ftp2.de.debian.org/pub/debian testing main
deb http://ftp2.de.debian.org/pub/debian-non-US testing/non-US main
for german users
The c't appreciates contributions of code and debian-packages, so I want
to encourage everyone to support them.
There's a Forum at
http://www.heise.de/ct/foren/go.shtml?list=1&forum_id=47443 and an
email-address for bugreports: ctvdrbug@ctmagazin.de . You can also
register for a devloper-ML at
http://www.heise.de/bin/newsletter/listinfo/ctvdrdev .
Language in all three cases is German.
