I agree to this, too.
And in order to give an additional reasen to make it so:
the rename-patch would work better :)

The basic idea of this kind of softwareraid is great, but it isn't
such compfortable for the programmer. Even plugins/patches working
with the recordings will profit from this change, because working with
files will be much easier.
