[vdr] Re: No sound on RTL (some times)

Hi,

afaik both errors are know to dvb developers, but they come in line with
some _more_ bugs, and they shifted towards getting rid of the av7110
legacy stuff, so a dvb-t card not tuning, or a b2c2 killing the kernel are
more ugent problems to fix than the utp error (not reproduceable by klaus)
or the problems found in varius mux-systems which show up on the hardware
decoder of the av7110.
(afaik the mux used by rtl had problems since i watch dvb ; and i still cant
record sky-news on astra on my 2nd ff card, i have to muggle aroud to get it
started on the primary ff card, also this is true for more than 12 month)

and yes i reported every (new) bug i found, but some are to rare to fix them.

also some might remember the "enhanced" discussion here about where to go
for vdr, that showed some of the reasons why av7110 stuff will fade out and
won't be fixed that much anymore, more and more people are using budget
cards and sw decoders, so dvb driver guys just follow the main stream, which
fully ok, after all the work done for TT-FF cards in linux.

Regards Onno

Btw, is the driver still under developement ?
Now there are two issues (UTP and this one) and neither seems anybody
do anything nor even be interested in that thing !?
You should find out which dvb-driver version introduced this behaviour
and post this information to the developer's list. Without even notifying
them you can't expect this problem to get fixed...
That's right but not as easy as you think. I cannot say, when it happens but
I'm sure, that I never had this problem with DVB-driver from 20.09.2003. So
we only have to test ca. 110 drivers... :-(

Maybe the driver-developer have some ideas, which changes could have
introduced such behaviour.

So did you write to the developer's mailing list?
I repeat: Without notifying the developers of the problem they cannot do
anything about it because they don't know the problems exists.

And to make things clear:
This is the *VDR* developer/user list - there are only a few dvb
developers, if not none, on *this* list.

Cheers,
Juri
