well for me i would like to have a spoken help (no no don't do that !) but 
afaik a more generic sollution (a help plugin) was allready considered by 
some people who were in need of more beginners online help.

for the short term i think about making some mpeg2 stills with a small 
guide, which would/could be displayed when unknown keys are pressed (vdr 
does not have a default help button, yet), or as option in the file chooser 
or in the plugin setup.

on the other hand the layout will probably change quite soon (survey at 
vdr-portal.de by Interpohl), but that is not my personal task, so i will 
foward your request together with my thoughts.
