if you did have read all the things you suggest to others you may know
better. from the GPL FAQ:

i think this is very clear.

as stated above, it does not matter where i did get the binaries from,
the only thing that matters is who distributed the changed binaries in
the first place.

i think you really should either read more carfully what has been said
so far and stop spreading FUD.

nobody has claimed that anybody violates the GPL regarding VDR so far.
but there are people who want to be sure that it will not happen as it
has allready been the case with other projects. this is rather on topic
here, i think. if you are not interested in a specific thread - don't
read it.
