If this is happening with VDR 1.3.6, please apply the patch from

  ftp://ftp.cadsoft.de/vdr/Developer/libsi.diff

It fixes a possible buffer overflow problem in handling itemized texts.
Don't know, though, if this is what's causing your problems.
