A good and more frequently used source of VDR Infos of any kind is the 
vdr-portal.de (mostly in german). Good luck!

The commands.conf- format is just like this:

Text displayed in OSD:command
For example:

~~~~~~~~~ || eigene Befehle     : echo "no function"
Update EPG   :/usr/local/scripts/updatevdr_epg.sh
Restart VDR  :/etc/init.d/vdr restart
Restart Mediaportal:shutdown -r now

I don't understand you're /video-question, maybe you should search in 
the vdr-portal for video video0 video1...
