Sorry - forgot to mention that vdr still dies of watchdog if a other program 
like kvdr has the video-device already open, maybe that can be avoided 
somehow - tried to open the videodev O_EXCL | O_NONBLOCK but that 
surprisingly doesn't help! (But i checked - if i comment out open() the 
watchdog does not trigger).

Is the open(O_NONBLOCK) correctly implemented in the dvb-driver?
