[vdr] [possible Bug] vdr 1.3.x and NPTL enabled Linux (glibc)
Hi,
i have the last day´s tried to install vdr 1.3.6 under MDK 10.0 and have
encountered some problems caused by the using of NPTL enabled glibc
libraries (libpthread).
First at all, the RCU expansion doesen´t work anymore. Starting vdr with
REMOTE=RCU causes an imediadly "hang". vdr run, but takes up to 95% cpu
time, and the rcu respond-time goes up to several minutes.
Without RCU vdr will work, but it will use only one PID for all threats, and
i have seen some additional "hangs" at runtime, caused, i think, by
epg-scan.
Workaround for the moment: disabling NPTL libraries by (re)moving following
dirs out from /lib...
/lib/i686
/lib/tls
Maybe someone with NPTL skills can take a look over the vdr source....
Greetings
Andreas
