I'm interested in something similar, but ideally for Mac OS X.

I've got VDR running with streamdev-server, and I can use MPlayer
(on Mac OS X) to view live TV wonderfully.  I can browse the EPG and
set up recordings with 'VDR admin'.  However, it would be useful to
see the odd bit of VDR's OSD now and again, and perhaps for selecting
recordings to view.

I've seen 'streamcontrol' on Windows.  Is there anything else like that?
