Don't get me started with that Euro! I still don't understand why there
had to be a special symbol for that - after all, there was no symbol for
the DM either. And if you want to make sure an amount stated will be clear
to the reader, you better use EUR instead of a symbol that you can't
be 100% certain will be displayed correctly (see above, the '?').

Oh, and yes, any iso8859-X that has the German umlauts at the proper
index will do fine.

If I ever install a Linux distro that has UTF-8 as default, I'll probably
do the same ;-)
