hello, i had a look into the ml archive but didn't find an answer to this: - vdr-1.3.12 and linux-2.4.27 work fine - vdr-1.3.12 and linux-2.6.x NO OSD it is a recent debian sarge system and uses just one ff dvb-s 1.3 card. i guess one can exclude nptl as the source of the problem as sarge doesn't seem to use it at all and it doesn't seem to make a difference if i export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL anyway. on both kernels mplayer does display movies, so the dvb drivers get loaded. on both kernels i use dvb-kernel-20040829 from cvs and dvb-ttpci-01.fw-261c, for the 2.4 kernel the linux_2_4 branch of course. vdr does work in the background, as i can control it blindly and see the usual messages in the logs. i even can start movies with the mplayer-plugin ( after blindly steering through the menus ) and switch channels. all that is missing is the OSD... but why? does klaus think we're already that familiar with vdr that an osd becomes more and more dispensable fancy ornament? ;-) greetings, daniel -- --- unix _is_ user-friendly --- --- it just decides who his friends are ---
