I downloaded the latest xine plugin and xine-lib, xine-ui from the same web 
page.

Patched and compiled as the instructions indicate.  Did the make plugins -- 

I can run vdr and when I run xine and connect to the stream, vdr says the 
client connected but then everything seems to freeze.  I can't get vdr to 
change channels (via keys), xine just gives me a black screen... and nothing 
else.  I did test xine using an mpeg file and it works fine.

Any suggestions what might be wrong?
