When I buildt my first J2 -> SVideo connector I used a simple flat cable 
(stole it from an old mainboard to serial port). This lead to horrible 
signal quality.
Since then I'm using two pieces of coax cable (old RG58 from the 10Base2 
times) with very good results. The SPDIF still runs over the old flat cable.
