Recent thread on directfb-users shows that sysfsutils is needed to use 
I2C, which in turn is needed by DirectFB to tune your graphic card. Some 
other cards don't need I2C, and work without sysfsutils under 2.6.
With 2.4, you must have had the I2C /proc modules loaded.
