Well then your friend does not have a "good one".  With my crt projector, I 
can easily run it at 1600*1200 (4:3), or 1920*1080. The spec. says 2500*2000 
maximum, but thats stretching the truth a little bit, since the phosphor will 
not adress that resolution. I like it a lot better than my 21" Eizo T962 for 
video material ;-) There's nothing like big screen viewing.

But then again, I have had projectors for the past 15 years, so I am probably 
spoiled. :-)

Look for a (good) used 8" or preferably 9" Sony, G70/G90, Marquee 
8500LC/9500LC or Barco 1209s etc. You will not find it in a regular TV 
shop... ;-)
