Hi all + Werner,
I also have problems replaying old recordings with vdr 1.3.20.

The are replayed as PCM, only.

You meant Mpeg Audio decoded into PCM ?? This would be a problem
if you have disabled DD in the VDR configuration menu.
If you replay AC3 as PCM your speakers will be very noisy.

Hi Werner,
my receiver displays the type of the stream.
It displays PCM for vdr 1.3.20, but AC-3 + 3/2.1 for 1.3.15 + AC3overDVB or test_av_play (all for the same recording).

DD is enabled in 1.3.20 (UseDolbyDigital=1).

Dominik

When replaying them with vdr-1.3.15 + AC3overDBV or trying test_av_play, my receiver plays them as 5.1 or 2.0 respectively. All the above is done with formware 261d from cvs.

In other words: the firmware does it correct but something goes wrong
in VDR 1.3.20 ... maybe your setup of VDR 1.3.20 does not allow
AC3 audio.

I don't have any stutterig, though.

Stutterig is only a problem if the data stream is not smooth
and/or the AV receiver has problems with the data stream.

The first can happen, e.g. by LiveTV because of the offset
between audio and video which can not avoided because the
reqiured data for synching are not yet available.
