[linux-dvb] How to convert DVB video to DVD?

Not too far off topic - since it is about converting DVB streams to DVD
and iPod compatable formats. It is pretty hard to have one without the
other.

Anyway it's still not making much sense to me.

This time I did this:

mencoder -of mpeg -mpegopts format=dvd -oac faac -faacopts br=10:raw
-of lavf -o "The Biggest Hits - Right Now.mp4" -oac faac -faacopts
br=128:raw "The Biggest Hits - Right Now.ts"

And I got this output:

mencoder -of mpeg -mpegopts format=dvd -oac faac -faacopts br=NN:raw
-of lavf -o "The Biggest Hits - Right Now.mp4" -oac faac -faacopts
br=128:raw "The Biggest Hits - Right Now.ts"

The br option must be an integer: NN

I know you said 'yes' when I asked is NN was supposed to be a number,
but you neglected to say what this number is.

If I include some random number (say 10) for NN - since I do not know
the correct value for this number, I get another error message saying:

mencoder -of mpeg -mpegopts format=dvd -oac faac -faacopts br=10:raw
-of lavf -o "The Biggest Hits - Right Now.mp4" -oac faac -faacopts
br=128:raw "The Biggest Hits - Right Now.ts"

Can't someone just give me a straighforward one line answer (showing the
full command line) on how to to convert the above file to a fully Ipod
(and also a DVD) comptable format/s?

Like I said I only need to know once.

I will certainly ask on the Mplayer users list for any more advanced
Ipod related encoding information. (Such as scaling/quality settings and
so on).
