I recently tried my FusionHDTV II card again, when setting up a new
MythTV box. It appears to be close to working, but not quite there.
Has anyone else used this card successfully?

I applied the driver patches from Michael Krufky's www page:
http://linuxtv.org/~mkrufky/fusionhdtv2.patch

The only thing I had to change in the patch was the PCI device
identifier. In Michael's patch it was "0xd20018ac". On my system, it
was 0xd200dbc0, as shown below:

0000:02:05.0 Multimedia video controller: Brooktree Corporation Bt878
Video Capture (rev 11)
        Subsystem: Unknown device dbc0:d200
        Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 32, IRQ 18
        Memory at d9000000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=4K]
        Capabilities: [44] Vital Product Data
        Capabilities: [4c] Power Management version 2

0000:02:05.1 Multimedia controller: Brooktree Corporation Bt878 Audio
Capture (rev 11)
        Subsystem: Unknown device dbc0:d200
        Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 32, IRQ 18
        Memory at d9001000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=4K]
        Capabilities: [44] Vital Product Data
        Capabilities: [4c] Power Management version 2

dvbscan output showed some pids, so it appears to be seeing something:

>>> tune to: 57028615:8VSB
WARNING: filter timeout pid 0x0000
WARNING: filter timeout pid 0x1ffb

(snip)

>>> tune to: 177028615:8VSB (tuning failed)
WARNING: filter timeout pid 0x0000
WARNING: filter timeout pid 0x1ffb

(All other channels got a "tuning failed!!!" message, like below)

>>> tune to: 183028615:8VSB
WARNING: >>> tuning failed!!!

Does that dvbscan output point to anything? The two channels that
worked are 2 and 7, two local channels with DTV broadcasts. So, it's
correctly seeing something there..

The verbose output from dvbscan looks like this:
dvbscan -vvvv -a 2 scan/atsc/us-ATSC-center-frequencies-8VSB
scanning scan/atsc/us-ATSC-center-frequencies-8VSB
using '/dev/dvb/adapter2/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter2/demux0'
>>> tune to: 57028615:8VSB
>>> tuning status == 0x00
>>> tuning status == 0x1f
