as answered in irc,
I separated usbreplay from the v4l-dvb package since its an own
project which should get some extra attention.

the sourcecode is available at:
http://mcentral.de/hg/~mrec/usbreplay

try to debug that tool with gdb.

The bug will very likely be
a.) no access to your usb bus or
b.) no device attached or
c.) some allocation didn't work out

I didn't spend too much time on that tool it just satisfied my needs for now.
Patches and/or traces are welcome.
